Ostatnio w kinie miałam okazję obejrzeć niezwykły, oparty na motywach powieści Eleny Ferrante film wyreżyserowany przez Maggie Gyllenhaal po tytułem "Córka" . Jego głowną bohaterka Leda, matka dwóch dorosłych córek udaje sie na urlop na jedną z greckich wysp. Pewnego dnia w trakcie jej pobytu na plaży gubi się córka młodziutkiej, przebywającej w gronie licznej oraz hałaśliwej rodziny kobiety. Ta sytuacja staje się punktem powrotu do wspomnień związanych z jej własnym macierzyństwem. 

Film porusza niezwykle ważny problem baby blues, ale dotyka także innych kwestii związanych z instynktem macierzyńskim jak i samego macierzyństwa w znaczeniu ogólnym. Kobieta w momencie, w którym zostaje matką kobietą być nie przestaje. Wciąż ma swoje pasje, ambicje, karierę zawodową. Jednak często ze względu na dzieci odsuwa je na dalszy plan. Natomiast gdy  decyduje się postawić na realizację prywatnych celów oraz pragnień, to często spotyka się z dezaprobatą oraz krytyką otoczenia. Kobieta to w pewien sposób postać tragiczna bo czegokolwiek nie wybierze zawsze jakaś strona ucierpi - albo dzieci, które będą widywać mamę rzadziej, albo praca, gdyż nie będzie w pełni w stanie się jej oddać. Kobieta - matka jednak coś wybrać musi i często decyduje o jej wyborze decyduje cały szereg czynników zewnętrznych. Film pokazuje macierzyństwo takie jakie naprawdę jest. Pełne cudownych chwil spędzonych z dziećmi, ale z drugiej strony także to całe poświęcenie, bezradność, totalne zmęczenie, które często są w aspelcie maciezryństwa pomijane.

Film ten polecam każdej kobiecie, a przede wszystkim każdej matce, która z pewnością będzie potrafiła odnaleźć w nim siebie.

Recently, in the cinema, I had the opportunity to watch an unusual film directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal entitled "The  Lost Daughter" based on the novel by Elena Ferrante. The main character of Leda, mother of two adult daughters, goes on vacation to one of the Greek islands. One day, during her stay on the beach, the daughter of a young woman, staying with a large and noisy family, is lost. This situation becomes a return point to the memories of her own motherhood.

The film touches upon an extremely important issue like baby blues, and also touches upon other issues related to the maternal instinct and motherhood in a general sense. A woman does not stop to be a woman when she becomes a mother. She still has her passions, ambitions and professional career. However, she often pushes them to the background for the sake of children. When, on the other hand, she decides to pursue private goals and desires, she is often disapproved of by the environment. A woman is, in a way, a tragic figure because whatever she chooses, some side will always suffer - from one side the children who will see their mother less often, from the other her work, because she will not be able to fully devote herself to her. A woman-mother, however, has to choose something, and it is often determined by a whole range of external factors. The film shows motherhood as it really is. Full of wonderful moments spent with children, but on the other hand also all this dedication, helplessness, total fatigue that are often overlooked.

I recommend this film to every woman, and above all to every mother who will certainly be able to find herself in it.

Żyjemy w czasach, w których nastąpił niezwykły rozwój technologii. To co jeszcze kilkanaście lat temu pozostawało jedynie w sferze naszej wyobraźni dzisiaj często jest już faktem. Dobra technologiczne bardzo często sprawiają, że zyskujemy cenny czas, który możemy przeznaczyć na wypoczynek, spotkania z bliskimi, hobby czy rozwój osobisty. Jednocześnie jednak, o ironio, to też one mogą być w obecnym świecie  największymi złodziejami czasu. Wystarczy bowiem chwycić za telefon, tablet czy laptop i zanurzyć się w świecie mediów społecznościowych. Czas mija wtedy niezwykle szybko, dlatego warto segregować medialne treści i skupiać się przede na tych, które wnoszą do naszego życia coś wartościowego. Dzięki temu, więcej czasu czasu zamiast bezproduktywnie  siedzieć w sieci, spędzimy w realnym świecie w gronie najbliższych. 

We live in times when technology has developed remarkably. This what was many years ago only in  sphere of our imagination, today is often a fact. Technological goods very often make us gain valuable time that we can spend on leisure, meetings with loved ones, hobbies or personal development. At the same time, however, ironically, they too may be the greatest thieves of time in the present world. It is enough just to grab your phone, tablet or laptop and plunge into the world of social media. Time passes very quickly there, so it is worth making selection of media content and focusing primarily on those that bring something valuable to our lives. Thanks to this, we will spend more time in the real world with our loved ones instead of being unproductively online.

Ostatnio przegladając niektóre konta na mediach społecznościowych odniosłam wrażenie, że ich twórcy już jakiś czas temu stracili kontakt z rzeczywistością, którą w większej mierze zastąpili życiem w internecie, dzieląc się niemalże wszystkim. I tu nasuwa się pytanie czy naprawdę za cenę bycia twórcą internetowym czy influencerem warto aż tak bardzo poświęcać własną prywatność dzieląc się prawie każdym aspektem ze swojego życia z całkowicie obcymi ludźmi. Znacznie gorzej gdy instagramerzy, tikotokerzy, youtuberzy oraz inni internetowi twórcy zaczynają przekraczać wątpliwe z wielu względów granice, byle tylko za wszelką cenę zainstnieć. I to zaistnieć w świecie, który w dużej mierze opiera się na kłamstwie oraz koloryzowaniu rzeczywistości. 

Recently,while I am checking some social media accounts, I had the impression that their creators lost touch with reality some time ago, which they have largely replaced with life on the Internet, where they share almost everything. And here arises the question whether it is really worth sacrificing your privacy so much at the cost of being an Internet creator or influencer, sharing almost every aspect of your life with complete strangers. It is much worse when instagramers, tiktokers, youtubers and other Internet creators begin to cross the dubious boundaries in many ways just to exist at any cost. And this all to appear in a world that is largely based on lies and coloring and fake reality.

W ostatnim okresie czasu możemy zaobserwować wysyp, niczym grzybów po deszczu, kolejnych twórców, influencerów, motywatorów oraz eksperpetów, z których spora część zdecydowała się na wydanie( pomimo często braku odpowiedniego wykształcenia, wieloletniej praktyki, a niejednokrotnie nawet rzetelnej wiedzy)książek kucharskich, motywacyjnych, wszelkiego rodzaju "eksperckich" przewodników, dzięki, którym nauczysz się między innymi  jak medytować, zarabiać, wybierać odpowiednie hashtagi,  planować czas a nawet zrobić tosty. A wszystko to w "niezwykle promocyjnych" cenach. Pochłonięci kulturą social mediów często wpadamy w pułapki zastawione przez internetowych twórców i wielokrotnie zapominamy, że często te wartościowe treści, których poszukujemy możemy uzyskać w internecie oraz poza nim o wiele taniej a nawet całkowicie bezpłatnie.

Recently, we can observe a real avalanche, pop up like mushrooms after rain, of other authors, influencers, motivators and experts, many of whom decided to  publish, (despite the lack of appropriate education, many years of practice, and often even reliable knowledge) cooking books, motivational books, all kinds of "expert" guides, thanks to which you will learn, among other things, how to meditate, earn money, choose the right hashtags, plan your time and even how to make a toast. All of them at "extremely promotional" prices. Absorbed in the culture of social media, we often fall into traps set by online creators and we sometimes forget that often the valuable content we are looking for can be obtained on the Internet and beyond them  much cheaper or even completely for free.

Obserwując zjawisko social mediowego Big Brothera z jakimś takim sentymentem wracam do odległej  przeszłości, w której zamiast liczby like-ów dużo ważniejsza była liczba przyjaciół, kolegów oraz znajomych, z którymi faktycznie miło spędzało się czas i gdzie o wpadkach, porażkach czy kompromitacjach wiedziała zaledwie garstka osób po czym szybko szły one w zapomnienie. Dzisiejszy internet o niczym nie zapomina, a co gorsze nawet wiele lat później lubi wytknąć influencerowi oraz twórcy jego błędy czy niepowodzenia. W pajęczynie internetu nic bowiem nie ginie na zawsze...

Observing the Big Brother social media phenomenon, I return with some sentiment to the distant past, in which, instead of the number of likes, much more important was the number of friends, colleagues and acquaintances with whom you actually spent a good time and where only a group of people knew about mistakes, failures or compromises and then they were quickly forgotten. Today's internet forgets nothing, and even worse, after years, it likes to point out to influencer and to creator its mistakes or failures who made in past. Nothing is lost forever in the web of the Internet...

Jak część z Was wie jestem totalnym kinomaniakiem. Ostatnio miałam okazję obejrzeć trzy dość nietuzinkowe filmy ( dwa w kinie zanim je jeszcze zamknęli, jeden natomiast w domowym zaciszu). Wszystkie w pewien sposób poruszały wątek różnego rodzaju technologii wpływających na ludzkie życie. Mnie osobiście skłoniły do refleksji nad odpowiedzią na pytanie, w którym momencie kończy się granica zastosowania nowoczesnych rozwiązań nauki oraz technlogii w ludzkim życiu.

 As some of you know, I am a total cinema fan. Recently, I had the opportunity to watch three quite extraordinary films (two in the cinema before the goverment in Poland closed them, and one at home). All of them in some way touched the topic of various types of technologies affecting human life. Personally, they made me reflect on the answer to the question : when does the limit of using modern solutions of science and technology in human life end?

1.     „ LITTLE JOE”, CZYLI OPOWIEŚĆ O ROŚLINIE DAJĄCEJ SZCZĘŚCIE

Kto nie marzy o tym, aby być szczęśliwym. Zakładam, że wszyscy z Was. Z tego samego założenia wychodzi także główna bohaterka filmu – Alice pracująca na co dzień w nowoczesnej korporacji odpowiedzialnej za tworzenie nowych gatunków roślin. Pewnego dnia, dzięki wykraczającym poza etykę pracy połączeniu komórek oraz genów udaje jej się stworzyć niezwykłą roślinę. Każdy z jej właścicieli w zamian za ospowiednia opiekę oraz rozmowę z nią zostanie obdarzony poczuciem szczęścia. Pewnego dnia wbrew polityce firmy kobieta decyduje się zabrać jeden egzemplarz do domu i obdarować nim swojego  syna.  Aby nie spoilerować nie napiszę w kwesti fabuły nic więcej. Zostawię Was tylko z refleksją oraz pytaniem: czy naprawdę poczucie szczęścia, które można kupić; nieważne czy w formie powyżej wspomnianego kwiatu, czy też jakiejkolwiek rzeczy pozwala tak naprawdę, być szczęśliwym, czy jest tylko złudzeniem prawdziwego szczęścia.

 "LITTLE JOE" - THE STORY OF A PLANT GIVING HAPPINESS

Who doesn't dream of being happy. I assume all of you. The main character of the film- Alice also follows the same assumption. She works in a modern corporation responsible for creating new plant species. One day, thanks to a combination of cells and genes beyond the ethics of work, she manages to create an amazing plant. Each of its owners, in return for appropriate care and conversation with them, will be blessed with a sense of happiness. One day, contrary to the company's policy, the woman decides to take one copy of this plant home and give it to her son. In order not to spoil, I will not write anything more about the plot. I will only leave you with reflection and the question: is there really a feeling of happiness that can be bought; no matter if in the form of the above-mentioned flower or any other thing, it really allows you to be happy, or it is just an illusion of true happiness.

2.     „POSSESSOR”, CZYLI OPOWIEŚĆ O TECHNOLOGII ZABÓJCY

Co byś zrobił(a) gdybyś dowiedział się, że ktoś inny ma możliwość posłużenia się Twoim ciałem w celu dokonania zabójstwa. Takim kimś jest właśnie pracujaca w tajnej organizacji Tasya, która na zlecenie bardzo zamożnych klientów zajmuje się likwidacją wskazanych przez nie osób. Nigdy nie czyni tego osobiście. Za to dzięki pomocy nowoczesnej technologii zręcznie manipuluje swoimi wybranymi ludzkimi narzędziami zmuszając je do wykonywania jej niejednokrotnie brutalnych poleceń. Okazuje się jednak, że Colin – kolejne z jej narzędzi do zabijania stawia pewnego rodzaju opór a jednocześnie sama Tasya mimo zawodowego profesjonalizmu przekonuje się, że wszystko ma swoje granice a ona sama jest tylko człowiekiem.

"POSSESSOR", OR A STORY ABOUT KILLER TECHNOLOGY

What would you do if you found out that someone else could use your body to commit murder? This kind of person is Tasya who is working in a secret organization  which, at the request of very wealthy clients, deals with the liquidation of people indicated by them. She never does it in person. On the other hand, thanks to the help of modern technology, she skillfully manipulates her selected human tools, forcing them to follow her, making often brutal commands. It turns out, however, that Colin - another of her killing tools, puts up some kind of resistance and at the same time Tasya herself, despite her professionalism, finds out that everything has its limits and after all she is only human being.

 

3.     „ANTIVIRAL”, CZYLI OPOWIEŚĆ O OBSESJI

Czy miłość do celebryty może mieć granice? Do czego zdolny byłby człowiek, aby być bliżej swojego idola? Na te pytania z pewnością zna odpowiedź Syd March – pracownik luksusowej kliniki sprzedającej wirusy pobrane od zakażonych gwiazd. Wprowadza nas on do świata, w którym ciało ludzkie staje się towarem, który każdy kto dysponuje odpowiednią gotówką może je nabyć. Obsesyjni fani są bowiem gotowi na wszystko, aby choć w najmniejszym stopniu być bliżej swoich ukochanych idoli. Główny bohater poza standartową działalnością zajmuje się także nielegalnym przemytem próbek wirusów gwiazd dostarczając je podejrzanym organizacjom działającym w ramach czarnego rynku. Pewnego dnia Syd sam zaraża się chorobą, która przyczyniła się do śmierci uwielbianej przez miliony Hannah Geist. Przez to sam staje się niezwykle cennym nabytkiem dla wielbicieli celebrytki oraz kolekcjonerów. Film Cronenberga pokazuje nam świat, w którym media na wszystkie sposoby manipulują odbiorcą do tego stopnia,że gotów jest on zaryzkować własne zdrowie a nawet życie, by być jak najbliżej ukochanej gwiazy. Jednocześnie zmusza nas do refleksji nad światem, w którym sami obecnie żyjemy gdzie celebryci za wszelką cenę starają się sprzedać nam różnego typu artykuły, abyśmy choć w ten sposób byli cząstką ich świata.

"ANTIVIRAL", OR A STORY ABOUT OBSESSION

Can love for a celebrity have limits? What would a man be able to be closer to his idol? These questions are certainly answered by Syd March, an employee of a luxury clinic selling viruses taken from infected stars. He introduces us to a world where the human body becomes a ware that anyone with the appropriate cash can buy. Obsessive fans are ready to do anything to be closer to their beloved idols. The main character, in addition to his standard activities, also deals with the illegal smuggling of star virus samples, delivering them to suspicious organizations operating on the black market. One day, Syd has been infected  some kind of  disease which contributed to the death of loved by millions Hannah Geist by himself. As a result, he becomes an extremely valuable asset for lovers of celebrities and collectors. Cronenberg's film shows us a world in which the media manipulate the viewer in all possible ways to such an extent that the viewer is ready to risk his own health and even life in order to be as close to his beloved star as possible. At the same time, it forces us to reflect on the world in which we ourselves live today, where celebrities try to sell us various types of articles at all costs, so that we could be a part of their world.

Przynajmniej jeden raz w życiu każdy z nas usłyszał wyrażenie: "na to jesteś jeszcze za młody" czy "jesteś na to za stary". Cóż, o ile w pierwszym przypadku, słowa te mają często rację bytu, o tyle w drugim niekoniecznie. Czy naprawdę istnieje granica, za którą już nie wypada czegoś robić ze względu na nasz wiek? Czy skakanie po kałużach w deszczowy dzień, puszczanie latawców lub też huśtanie się na huśtawkach zarezerwowane jest wyłącznie dla najmłoszych członków naszej planety?

Im jestem starsza, tym bardziej utwierdzam się w przekonaniu, że wiek to tylko liczba. Za tą liczbą, bez względu na to ile ona wynosi, ukrywa się człowiek z krwi i kości. Człowiek pełen marzeń, celów oraz pasji.To one często sprawiają, że obca dotąd osoba staje się nam bliższa. Wspólne zainteresowania łączą bowiem bez względu na wiek. Wiek to tylko liczba. Nie to kim jesteśmy .

W swoim życiu poznałam różnych ludzi. Większość z nich była w podobnym wieku, jednak część z nich była ode mnie znacznie młodsza ( mogłabym nawet być ich matką :-P ) lub znacznie starsza. Nie przeszkadzało to jednak żadnemu z nas, gdyż to co nas połaczyło było ponad podział wiekowy. 

Z drugiej strony  ile razy spotykamy młode osoby z tzw. starą duszą i odwrotnie uroczych staruszków tryskających energią niczym nastolatkowie. Wiek to tylko numer w akcie urodzenia , paszporcie czy dowodzie osobistym. Prawdziwy wiek moim zdaniem to ten, na który sami się w głebi duszy czujemy.

A co Wy myślicie w tej kwestii?

At least once in our lives, each of us heard the phrase: "you are too young for this" or "you are too old to do it". Well, while in the first case, these words are often right, in the second one not necessarily. Is there really a border beyond which it is no longer appropriate to do something because of our age? Is jumping on puddles on a rainy day, flying kites or swinging on swings reserved only for the youngest members of our planet?

The older I am, the more I am convinced that age is just a number. Behind this number, no matter how high it is, a man of blood and iron hides. A man full of dreams, goals and passion. This values often make a stranger until now  person become close for us. The common interests  join people regardless of age. Age is only a number. Not who we are.

I met various people in my life. Most of them were of a similar age, but some of them were much younger than me (I could even be their mother :-P) or much older. However, it didn't bother either of us, because what brought us together was above the age division.

On the other hand, how many times do we meet young people with the so-called an old soul, and vice versa, lovely old people full of beans like teenagers. Age is just a number on your birth certificate, passport or ID card. In my opinion, the real age is the one we feel deep down in ourselves.

And what do you think in this matter?

Let's talk - Fobie, lęki czyli strach ma wielkie oczy/ Phobia - fear makes things looks twice than they are

Strach towarzyszy człowiekowi od początku jego dziejów. Stanowi nieodłączna cześć jego egzystencji. Powiadają, że tylko głupi ludzie się nie boja. I chyba coś  w tym jest, ponieważ to właśnie strach potrafi wydobyć z istoty ludzkiej ten rodzaj adrenaliny, która zmusza ją do działania. 

Ostatnio ze względu na sytuacje, w której znalazł się niemalże cały świat strach stał się towarzyszem wielu z nas. Boimy się o swoje zdrowie oraz naszych najbliższych, byt materialny a także o swoją przyszłość. Nie wiemy bowiem kiedy i jak to wszystko co dzieje się dookoła nas się skończy. Ten strach jest czymś naturalnym, świadczy o naszej ludzkiej naturze. Nie możemy jednak pozwolić mu zadomowić się na dobre, dlatego warto nawet podczas tej domowej kwarantanny znaleźć rzeczy oraz czynności, które sprawiają nam radość i pozwalają choć przez jakiś czas oderwać się od strachu oraz tych wszystkich czarnych myśli.

Poza powyżej wspomnianymi przeze mnie lękami związanymi z egzystencja i strefa duchowa większość z nas boi się przynajmniej jednej rzeczy związanej ze sfera materialna, przestrzenna lub sytuacyjna. Niekiedy jak to jest w przypadku około 1/10 populacji strach ten przeradza się w fobie, która zamiast zmuszać  człowieka do działania często w go paraliżuje. Znacie to uczucie? Ja niestety tak ponieważ, co cześć z Was już dobrze wie, panicznie boje się biedronek. I niestety nie mam pojęcia skąd się to wzięło. 

Kilka lat temu cierpiałam także z powodu klaustrofobii. Wejście do windy było poza moim zasięgiem. Na szczęście po latach, mimo, że nadal odczuwam spory dyskomfort w małych zamkniętych pomieszczeniach jakoś całkiem nieźle sobie z tym radze.

Jestem ogromnie ciekawa czy i was prześladują jakieś fobie, a tymczasem poniżej zostawiam Was z lista kilku najdziwniejszych fobii, o których usłyszałam.

Fear has accompanied man since the beginning of its history. It is an inseparable part of his existence. They say that only stupid people are not afraid. And I think there is something in this, because it is fear that can extract from the human being this kind of adrenaline that forces them to act.

Recently, due to the situation in which almost the whole world has found, fear has become a companion to many of us. We are afraid for our health and our loved ones, material existence as well as for our future. We do not know when and how everything that happens around us will end. This fear is something natural, testifies to our human nature. However, we can't let them settle in for good, so it's worth even during this home quarantine to find things and activities that give us joy and allow us to break away from fear and all those dark thoughts for some time.

In addition to the fears I mentioned above related to existence and the spiritual zone, most of us are afraid of at least one thing related to the material, spatial or situational sphere. Sometimes, as it is in the case of about 1/10 of the population, this fear turns into a phobia, which instead of forcing a person to act often paralyzes them. Do you know this feeling? Unfortunately, I do, because, as some of you already know, I am terrified of ladybugs. And unfortunately I have no idea where it came from.

A few years ago I also suffered from claustrophobia. The elevator entrance was out of my reach. Fortunately, years later, despite the fact that I still feel a lot of discomfort in the small enclosed rooms somehow quite good with this advice.

I am extremely interested in whether you are haunted by any phobias, and in the meantime I am leaving you with a list of the weirdest phobias I have heard of.
