Uwielbiam towarzystwo książek od dziecka. Zwykle sama ( nie licząc niektórych szkolnych lektur) dobierałam sobie towarzystwo z papierowych stron, z którym chce spędzić czas. Historie, które chce od nich usłyszeć. Z wiekiem oczywiście moje książkowe preferencje nieco się zmieniły, ale wciąż niezwykle cenie sobie ten czas, który mam dla siebie oraz dobrej lektury.

Miesiąc kwiecień to u mnie przede wszystkim różnego rodzaju thrillery. Większość z nich przypadła mi do gustu, choć i pośród nich pojawiła się pozycja, która mnie rozczarowała. Poniżej przedstawiam króciutkie recenzje książek przeczytanych w kwietniu.

I love the company of books since I was a child. Usually, myself (apart from some required readings) I chose the company from paper pages with which I want to spend time. Stories that I want to hear from them. Of course, with age my book preferences have changed a bit, but I still value the time I have for myself and good reading.

The month of April is mainly for me various thrillers. I liked most of them, although among them there was a position that also disappointed me. Below are brief reviews of books read in April.

1. Zjazd Absolwentów / The Reunion  Guiallaume Musso 6/10

25 lat temu zaginęła jedna z uczennic Vinca Rockwell. Wszystko wtedy wskazywało na to, że uciekła ze swoim nauczycielem. Teraźniejszość, podczas zjazdu absolwentów po wielu latach pokazuje jednak, że było nieco  inaczej. Thomas i Maxime  dwaj najlepsi przyjaciele z czasów szkolnych wiedza bowiem coś, o czym nie ma pojęcia cała reszta szkoły. Otóż w jednym z budynków, który ma zostać wyburzony ukryte są ludzkie zwłoki...

Ciekawie napisany, obejmujący dwie perspektywy czasowe thriller obyczajowy.

 25 years ago one of  the students -Vinca Rockwell disappeared. Then everything indicated that she had run away with her teacher. The present during the reunion after many years , however shows that it was a bit different. Thomas and Maxime, the two best friends from school, know something that the rest of the school has no idea about. Well, in one of the buildings that is to be demolished is hidden human corpse ...  Interestingly written drama thriller covering two time perspectives.

2. Terapeutka/ A good enough mother  Bev Thomas  3/10

Ruth jest  jedna z najlepszych psychoterapeutek w jednej z londyńskich klinik. Jednak jej życie prywatne nie jest usłane różami. Przed kilku latu bowiem zaginała jej syn Thomas. Nie wiadomo czy chłopak ruszył śladami ulubionego bohatera książki : Into whe wild" czy tez stało się coś innego.

Pewnego dnia na terapii zjawia się  młody pacjent, który jest bardzo podobny do jej syna...

Niestety mimo obiecującej fabuły pozycja ta mnie nieco zawiodła  i trochę się zmuszałam, aby przeczytać ją do końca.

Ruth is one of the best psychotherapists in one of London's clinics. However, her private life is not a bed of roses. A few years ago her son Thomas was missing. It is not known if the boy followed in the footsteps of his favorite hero of the book: Into the wild "or something else happened.One day a young patient appears in therapy and he is very similar to her missing son ...Unfortunately, despite the promising plot, this position disappointed me a bit and I forced myself to read it to the end.

3. "48" Andreas Gruber 6/10

Na terenie Niemiec oraz Austrii dochodzi do serii podobnych morderstw. Ofiara jest najpierw wieziona, torturowana. Jednak zanim zostanie zamordowana, sprawca kontaktuje się z kimś bliskim z jej otoczenia dając jej do rozwiązania zagadkę : „Jeżeli w ciągu czterdziestu ośmiu godzin odgadniesz, dlaczego uprowadziłem tę kobietę, zostanie ona przy życiu. W przeciwnym razie – zginie.“ Zegar tyka, a sprawa trafia do policjantki z Monachium Sabine Nemec, której pomaga ją rozwiązać doświadczony holenderski profile Martin Sneijder. Interesująca fabuła oraz ciekawe postacie to główne atuty tego thrillera.

A series of similar murders appear in Germany and Austria. The victim is first imprisoned and tortured. However, before she is murdered, the perpetrator contacts someone close to her and gives this person a riddle to solve: "If in forty-eight hours you guess why I abducted this woman, she will stay alive. Otherwise she will die. " The clock is ticking, and the case goes to a policewoman from Munich Sabine Nemec, who is supported by an experienced Dutch profile Martin Sneijder. An interesting plot and interesting characters are the main advantages of this thriller.

4. Chris Carter  "Polowanie na zło"/ Hunting Evil

Chris Carter to moja zdecydowana czołówka jeśli chodzi o pisarzy z gatunku thriller/kryminał.Powieść "Polowanie na zło" czytałam wcześniej w oryginale. Ostatnio ukazało się jej polskie tłumaczenie, zatem pojawiła się okazja, aby powiększyć swoja biblioteczkę także o polski egzemplarz, który z chęcią przeczytałam powtórnie.  W tym tomie Robert Hunter wraz ze swoim partnerem oraz oddziałem FBI poluje na niezwykle groźnego zabójcę - Luciena Foltera, którego czytelnicy serii mieli okazje poznać bliżej w powieści "Geniusz zbrodni". Już na początku powieści  dowiadujemy się, że Lucien wykorzystując  swoja ponadprzeciętna inteligencje ucieka z więzienia , po czym starannie stara się zrealizować swój krwawy oraz niezwykle precyzyjny plan odwetu na dawnym przyjacielu ze studiów, którym był detektyw Hunter.  
To już 10 tom z serii, która zdecydowanie polecam nie tylko fanom gatunku. Autor ma nie tylko świetny styl pisarski, ale także wiedze merytoryczno- praktyczna na temat zagadnień o których pisze.

Chris Carter is my definite leader if we are talking about the writers of the thriller / detective story genre. I read the novel "Hunt for Evil" in the original. Recently a  appeared a Polish translation of this book, so there was an opportunity to enlarge my library with a Polish copy, which I read with pleasure again. In this volume, Robert Hunter along with his partner and the FBI division hunts for an extremely dangerous killer - Lucien Folter, whose readers of the series had the opportunity to get to know better in the novel "Genius of Crime". At the beginning of the novel, we find out that Lucien using his above-average intelligence to escape from prison, after which he carefully strives to implement his bloody and extremely precise plan of retaliation against his former friend from college, which was Detective Hunter.This is the 10th volume in the series, which I definitely recommend not only to fans of the genre. The author has not only a great writing style, but also substantive and practical knowledge about the issues he writes about.

Kolejny miesiąc za nami, a tym samym przychodzę do Was z kolejną porcją przeczytanych książek. Tym razem zdecydowanie dominują pozycje o tematyce mafijnej oraz thrillery. Jestem ciekawa czy któraś z poniższych pozycji przypadnie Wam do gustu :-)

Another month is behind us, and thus I come to you with another portion of books that I read. This time definitely dominating topics are: mafia and thrillers. I'm curious if any of the following positions is your cup of tea :-)

What books do you read usually ? What kind types o them is your favorite one?

1. ADRIAN MCKINTY  " ŁAŃCUCH" / " THE CHAIN"

Rachel podrzuca swoją córkę na przystanek. Chwilę później otrzymuje telefon od nieznajomej osoby,  z informacją, iż jej córka Kylie została uprowadzona, i aby ją odzyskać musi zapłacić okup oraz porwać kolejne dziecko. Nieznajoma okazuje się być matką, której ktoś w identyczny sposób oraz wedle tych samych  zasad porwał syna. Rachel  podobnie jak nieznajoma została uwikłana w łańcuch, który z ofiar czyni przestępców, i który aby dzieci pozostały żywe musi trwać. Trzymający w napięciu thriller, z ciekawą i nietuzinkową fabułą oraz wartką akcją.

Rachel drops her daughter to a bus stop. A moment later, she receives a phone call from a stranger, saying that her daughter Kylie has been abducted, and that she must pay a ransom and kidnap another child in order to get her back. The stranger turns out to be a mother whose someone in the same way and according to the same principles kidnapped her son. Rachel, like a stranger, was involved in a chain, which of the victims makes criminals, and which for children to remain alive must keep going. Suspenseful thriller, with an interesting and extraordinary story and fast action.

 

2. ROBERTO SAVIANO "CHŁOPCY Z PARANZY" /"LA PARANZA DEL BAMBINI"

Książka na której opiera się film "Piranie". Przedstawia ona historię nastoletnich chłopców z niecieszącej się dobrą sławą dzielnicy Neapolu - Forcelli, którzy bardzo dobrze zdają sobie sprawę ze swojej niepewnej przyszłości. Stopniowo śledzimy ich pierwsze kroki w paranzy, która jest ogniwem łańcucha słynnej włoskiej Camorry, której celem jest zdobycie władzy w całej dzielnicy. Jest to historia o przemocy, okrucieństwie a także utraconej niewinności

The book on which is based the  "Piranhas" movie. It presents the story of teenage boys from the not-so-famous district of Naples - Forcella, whose are very well aware of their uncertain future. We are gradually following their first steps in paranza, which is a cell in the chain of the famous Italian Camorra, whose goal is to gain power in the entire district. It is a story about violence, cruelty and lost innocence

 

3. ARTUR KOWALEWSKI/ PIOTR PYTLAKOWSKI "ODWRÓCENI"

Tym razem dla odmiany mamy do czynienia z książką, która została napisana na postawie scenariusza do serialu telewizyjnego.  Jest to opowieść o przestępczym świecie mafii, a także policji, która na co dzień z ta mafią ma styczność.  Realistyczne postacie, ciekawa fabuła sprawia, że książkę czyta się szybko i przyjemnie. Pozycja obowiązkowa dla fanów serialu.

This time, for a change, we have  book that was written on the basis of a script for a television series. It is a story about the criminal world of the mafia, and also  the police who deal with this them every day. Realistic characters, interesting story makes that I read this book quickly and with big pleasure. A must read position for fans of the series.

4.WOJCIECH CHMIELARZ  "PODPALACZ"

Pierwsza część serii z komisarzem Jakubem Mortką. To moje drugie spotkanie z Chmielarzem i to także zaliczam do udanych. W willi na Ursynowie wybucha pożar w wyniku którego ginie biznesman, a jego żona zostaje ciężko ranna. Początkowo wygląda to na nieszczęśliwy wypadek, jednak w trakcie śledztwa okazuje się, że było to kolejne podpalenie z rzędu. Ciekawie napisany z bardzo dobrym zakończeniem. 

The first part of the series with Jakub Mortka. This is my second meeting with Chmielarz and I also consider them to successful. A fire breaks out in the villa in Ursynów, as a result of which a businessman dies and his wife is seriously injured. Initially, it looks like an unfortunate accident, but during the investigation it turns out that it was another fire in a row. Interestingly written with a very good ending.

 

5. SEAN MURPHY, MATT HOLLINGSWORTH "BATMAN-BIAŁY RYCERZ"

Ta pozycja to pozycja z serii książka- komiks. Opowiada on przede wszystkim historię odradzającego się jako Jack Napier Jokera oraz jego długoletniej partnerki Harley Quinn, którzy pragną zanegować zasługi Batmana oraz wprowadzić w życie swój niecny plan. Dzięki, któremu Jack zdobywa władzę zostając radnym. Mroczna, bardzo dobrze narysowana pozycja spodoba się fanom komiksów oraz  miłośnikom serii z Batmanem.

This position is a comic book. It tells  the story of  Joker who is reviving as Jack Napier  and his long-time partner Harley Quinn, they want to negate the merits of Batman and implement their evil plan into life. Thanks to which Jack gains power by becoming a councilor. Dark, very well drawn comic book will appeal to comic fans and as well fans of the Batman series.

 

6. FELICIA YAP "WCZORAJ" / "YESTERDAY"

Ciekawie skonstruowany thriller psychologiczny. Społeczeństwo brytyjczyków w 75% składa się z tzw. monosów, którzy pamietają tylko to co wydarzyło się dzień wcześniej  oraz w 25% z duosów, którzy pamietają wszystko z dwóch ostatnich dni. Jedną z monosek jest Claire, której mężem jest pełen aspiracji duos Mark. Są szczęśliwi do momentu, w którym z rzeki nie wypływa ciało pewnej kobiety. Rozpoczyna się policyjne śledztwo, które prowadzi do interesującego rozwiązania zagadki.

Interestingly constructed psychological thriller. 75% of British society consists of so-called monos who remember only what happened yesterday and in 25% of duos who remember everything from the last two days. Claire is one of her monos, whose husband is Mark, who is full of aspirations. They are happy until the body of a woman flows out of the river. A police investigation begins that leads to an interesting solution.

Okres wakacji to zdecydowanie czas, który sprzyja czytaniu książek. Warto choć na chwilę odłożyć wszystkie rzeczy na bok, udać się do parku, a następnie w promieniach słońca oddać się lekturze. Dzięki temu pozostając w rodzinnym mieście, miasteczku czy wsi mamy szansę choć duchowo przenieść się w kompletnie inne miejsce czy rzeczywistość. Poznać nowych bohaterów, którzy być może tak wiele wniosą w nasze życie opowiadając nam swoja historię.

Tymczasem prezentuję Wam krótka listę książek, które udalo mi sie przeczytać w tym miesiącu. Mam nadzieję, że któraś  z nich być może przypadnie Wam do gustu.

The holiday period is definitely a time that favors reading books. It is worth to put all the things aside for a moment, go to the park and then read in the sunny weather. Thanks to this, even if we stay in our hometown, town or village, we have a chance to spiritually move to a completely different place or reality.To know new heroes who perhaps bring so much into our lives telling us their story.

In the meantime, I am presenting to you a short list of books that I managed to read this month. I hope that maybe  you will like some of them.

1. J.P DELANEY "W ŻYWE OCZY" / "BELIEVE ME" 

Claire Wright jest aktorką. Potrafi  idealnie wcielić się w różne postacie. Pracuje na zlecenie firmy prawniczej, gdzie skutecznie demaskuje niewiernych małżonków. Pewnego dnia jej "klientem" zostaje tajemniczy kochający poezje Baudelaire'a Patrick Fogler, a jej życie dzięki tej nietypowej znajomości zaczyna się nieco komplikować.

Claire Wright is an actress. She can perfectly incorporate various characters. She works from time to time for a law firm, where she effectively unmasks unfaithful married guys. One day, her "client" is Baudelaire's mysterious love poetry Patrick Fogler, and her life due to this unusual familiarity begins to slightly complicate.

2. ELIZABETH CRAFT, SHEA OLSEN - FLOWER.JAK KWIAT/ FLOWER

Osiemnastoletnia Charlotte ma konkretny plan. Całe swoje życie ciężko pracuje, aby dostaś sie na jeden z prestiżowych uniwersytetów amerykańskich. Tymczasem w kwiaciarni, w której dorabia pewnego dnia pojawia się on - idol nastolatek, a wtedy jej całe życie ulega zmianie.

Eighteen-year-old Charlotte has a specific plan. She's been working hard all his life to get into one of the prestigious American universities. Meanwhile, in a flowers shop, where she works, one day he  it appears a popular teenage idol, and after this meeting her whole life has changed.

3. REMIGIUSZ MRÓZ " EKSPOZYCJA

Nad ranem turyści odkrywają powieszone na krzyżu zwłoki mężczyzny. Sprawę prowadzi niecieszący sie popularnością komisarz Wiktor Frost. Wraz z dziennikarką Olgą Szrebską odkrywa kolejne topy zagadki, które prowadzą do zbrodni  z przeszłości. Niestety książka kompletnie, mimo tego, że sporo się w niej dzieje mnie do siebie nie przekonała.  Kolejne tomy zdecydowanie sobie odpuszczę.

In the morning, group of tourists discover a male body hanged on the cross. The case is being run by the undisguised commissar, Viktor Frost. Along with journalist Olga Szrebska, he discovers more tops of the riddle that lead to crimes from the past. Unfortunately, the book completely, despite the fact that a lot of it is happening on its pages, did not convince me. I will definitely give up the next volumes.

4. CHRIS CARTER "HUNTING EVIL"

Najnowszy 10 już tom słynnej serii thrillerów napisanych przez Chrisa Cartera.  Tym razem para głównych detektywów wraz  z pomocą służb rusza w pościg za zbiegłym i bardzo niebezpiecznym Lucienem Folterem, którego nieco bliżej poznaliśmy w szóstym tomie serii. Jak zawsze świetnie napisana oraz bogata w drastyczne detale morderstwa książka, która bardzo polecam.

The latest volume number 10 of the famous series of thrillers by Chris Carter. This time, the pair of the main detectives, along with the help of the other services, is on the hunt for the runaway and very dangerous killer Lucien Folter, whose we knowing better in the sixth volume of the series. As always well written and rich in drastic details of the murder book, which I highly recommend.

5. STEFAN AHNHEM "MOTYWATOR X" /"MOTIVE X"

Czwarta z serii książka niemieckiego pisarza z Fabianem Friskiem w roli głównej. Po ostatnich wydarzeniach główny bohater wraz z rodziną udaje się na urlop. Szefowa Friska - Astrid udaje się  na odwyk. A tymczasem w mieście dochodzi do brutalnych morderstw, dokonanych różnymi metodami oraz przedmiotami. Po przeczytaniu tej książki czekam na ciąg dalszy.

The fourth book series written by German writer with Fabian Frisk in the main role. After the recent events, the main character and his family go on holiday. Frisk's boss - Astrid goes to rehab. In the meantime, there are a series of  brutal murders in the city made by various methods and objects. After this book I am looking forward for the next volume.

6. Christopher Golden, Damian Couceiro & others "Synowie anarchii" tom 1/ "Sons of anarchy" tom 1

Jestem ogromną fanką serialu zatem, gdy ta pozycja trafiła w moje ręcę nie mogłam jej nie przeczytać. Książka komiks opowiadająca o wydarzeniach pomiędzy 4 a 5 sezonem serii. Córka Kozika - jednego z nieżyjących członków Synów Anarchii ucieka do Charming szukając schronienia przed śmiercią. Tig dawny kompan Kozik,a po traumatycznych wydarzeniach związanych z utratą swojej córki postanawia jej pomóc. Wartka akcja, bardzo dobra kreska - dla fanów serialu pozycja obowiązkowa.

I am a huge fan of the TV series, so when this item hit my hands I could not read it. A comic book about events between the 4th and 5th season of the series. The daughter of Kozik - one of the dead members of the Sons of Anarchy, escapes to Charming, seeking refuge from death. Tig, a former Kozik's buddy, after the traumatic events associated with the loss of his daughter decides to help her. Fast action, very good drawings - for the fans of the series, the obligatory position.
