Banksy - to pseudonim twórcy, który zdecydowanie jest jednym z najpopularniejszych artystów street art'u na świecie. Jego prace najczęściej poruszają ważne zagadnienia społeczne, polityczne, klimatyczne. Powstają na ulicach oraz zaułkach najróżniejszych miast na całym świecie. Za ich pomocą Banksy stara się poruszyć nasze sumienia. Zwrócić uwagę na ważne wydarzenia oraz problemy. Sprawić byśmy porzucili obojętność i poddali się refleksji. W swojej sztuce wielokrotnie zajmuje stanowisko polityczne ukazując problem biedy, wojny, zanieczyszczenia środowiska naturalnego, konsumpcjonizmu, władzy oraz bieżących wydarzeń społecznych. Banksy zdecydowanie należy do grona moich ulubionych współczesnych twórców, dlatego też, gdy dowiedziałam się o jego wystawie w Poznaniu, od razu kupiłam na nią bilety.

Banksy - is the pseudonym of an artist who is by far one of the most popular street art artists in the world. His works usually address important social, political, climate issues. They are created on the streets and backstreets of various cities around the world. With their help Banksy tries to move our consciences. To draw attention to important events and problems. Make us abandon indifference and give in to reflection. In his art he repeatedly takes a political stance showing the problem of poverty, war, environmental pollution, consumerism, power and current social events. Banksy is definitely one of my favorite contemporary artists, so when I found out about his exhibition in Poznan, I immediately bought tickets for it.

Na wystawę wybraliśmy się pod koniec sierpnia. Odbywa się ona na terenie Miedzynarodowych Targów Poznańskich. Każdy, kto choć trochę interesuje się tematyką street art'u oraz poszukuję w sztuce tematyki zmuszającej odbiorców do refleksji, powinien się na nia wybrać. Oprócz najbardziej popularnych prac artysty, na wystawię będziecie mieli także okazję podziwiać szereg tych nieco mniej znanych. Wśród nich zobaczycie wiele prac eksponatów, takich jak umierająca brytyjska budka telefoniczna, wagon londyńskiego metra, czy ozdobiona słynnymi miejskimi szczurami toaleta. 

We went to the exhibition at the end of August. It takes place on the grounds of the Poznan International Fair. Anyone who is at least a little bit interested in the subject of street art and looking for themes in art that make the audience reflect, should go there. In addition to the most popular works of the artist, at the exhibition you will also have the opportunity to admire a number of those a little less known. Among them, you will see many works of artifacts, such as a dying British telephone box, a London Underground carriage, or a toilet decorated with the city's famous rats.

W lipcu udało nam się zaliczyć krótki wypad do Warszawy. Wybraliśmy się tam przede wszystkim ze względu na koncert zespołu The Midnight, którego muzykę bardzo lubi moja druga połówka. Korzystając z okazji, ponieważ mieliśmy trochę czasu przed koncertem, spotkaliśmy się tam również z naszymi znajomymi. Wraz z nimi postanowiliśmy odwiedzić nietuzinkową warszawską restaurację Madonna. Miałam problem z zarezerwowaniem stolika online, jednak bez problemu udało nam się "zdobyć stolik" wchodząc do restauracji z ulicy.

Do odwiedzania lokalu skłonił mnie przede wszystkim fakt, że w swojej ofercie drinków posiadają oni tzw. shark drink. Jest on podawany wraz z rekinem trzymającym w szczęce sok z grenadyny, który po wlaniu go do błękitnego drinka sprawia, że wygląda on jakby pokrył się krwią pożeranej przez rekina ofiary. Ze względu na to, że mój Kuba jest ogromnym fanem rekinów, musieliśmy koniecznie te drinki wypróbować. Ponadto skorzystaliśmy też z menu obiadowego. Same drinki bardzo nam smakowały, co do jedzenia (my z Kubą testowaliśmy pizze)było ono przeciętne. Bardzo podobało mi się za to wnętrze lokalu. Bogate w liczne neony, dodatki oraz nietuzinkowe oświetlenie. Za ciekawy uznaję także pomysł wykorzystania lalek konkretnej płci na drzwiach do toalet. Jeśli zatem jesteście fanem takich klimatów i fajnych drinków to miejsce zdecydowanie powinno Wam się spodobać.

In July we managed to score a short trip to Warsaw. We went there primarily because of the concert of the band The Midnight, whose music my other half is very fond of. Taking the opportunity, since we had some time before the concert, we also met with our friends there. Together with them, we decided to visit the unconventional Warsaw restaurant Madonna. I had a problem with booking a table online, but we were able to “get a table” by entering the restaurant from the street without any problems.

What prompted me to visit the establishment in the first place was the fact that they have a so-called shark drink in their drink offerings. It is served with a shark holding grenadine juice in its jaws, which, when poured into the blue drink, makes it look as if it is covered with the blood of shark-eaten prey. Due to the fact that my Kuba is a huge shark fan, we absolutely had to try these drinks. In addition, we also took advantage of the dinner menu. We enjoyed the drinks themselves very much, but when we talk about the food  (Kuba and I tested the pizzas) it was average. Instead, I really liked the interior of the establishment. Rich in numerous neon signs, accessories and unusual lighting. I also like the idea of using dolls of a particular gender on the doors to the toilets. So if you are a fan of such atmospheres and cool drinks this place should definitely appeal to you.
