Uwielbiam czytać. Godziny, które spędzam na czytaniu książek to dla mnie zawsze pewnego rodzaju podróże pozwalające zanurzyć się w nowe światy. Latem czytam troszkę mniej; jesienna aura natomiast sprawia, że książka staje się nieodłącznym elementem mojego dnia. Dzisiaj jak widzicie powoli nadrabiam zalgłości w postach książkowych. Zapraszam Was na czytelnicze podsumowanie czerwca oraz lipca.

I love reading. For me, the hours I spend reading books are always a kind of journey that allows me to get into into new worlds. In summer I read a little less; the autumn aura, on the other hand, makes the book  becomes an integral part of my day. Today, as you can see, I am slowly making up a post book. I invite you to a reading summary of June and July.

1. MAX SECK  " WIERNY CZYTELNIK"/ "THE ICE COVEN" 5/10

"Wierny czytelnik" to moje pierwsze spotaknie z tym lubianym przez Amerykanów fińskim autorem.  Żona znanego pisarza ubrana w czarną, długą suknię zostaje znaleziona martwa przy stole. Dokładnie w takiej samej pozycji zostaje ginie jedna z ofiar, które opisał w swojej książce mąż zamordowanej. W niedługim czasie liczna ofiar się zwiększa a sceneria ich śmierci ponownie nawiązuje do wspomnianej wyżej książki. Rozpoczyna się dochodzenie  na którego cezle staje Jessica Niemi.

Książka mimo ciekawego pomysłu niestety mnie do siebie do końca  nie przekonała.

"THe ice coven" is my first meeting with this Finnish author liked by the Americans. The wife of a famous writer wearing a black long dress is found dead at the corner of a table. One of the victims described in a book written by the husband of the dead wife; dies in exactly the same position like her. Soon the number of victims increases and the scenery of their deaths again refers to the above-mentioned book. An investigation conducted by  Jessica Niemi begins...

The book despite an interesting plot idea  unfortunately did not convince me to the end.

2. MARCEL MOSS  "NIE WIESZ NIC" 8/10

"Nie wiesz nic" to trzeci tom z serii Liceum Freuda. Po tragicznej śmierci Alana- kapitana męskiej drużyny siatkowej grupa uczniów z nowym kapitanem ( Hubertem)na czele wyrusza na kilkudniowy obóz w Bieszczady. Wyprawa, której celem jest zintegrowanie drużyny szybko zmienia się w krawą walkę o życie.

Książka dorze napisana ; zdecydowanie trzyma poziom pozostałych książek z serii.

"You Don't Know Nothing" is the third volume in the Freud High School series. After the tragic death of Alan - the captain of the men's volleyball team, a group of students headed by the new captain (Hubert) go for a several-day camp in the Bieszczady Mountains. An expedition aimed at integrating the team quickly turns into a bloody fight for life.

The book is well written; definitely keeps  the level of the rest of the books in the series.

3. H.S CHNADLER "WYMIAR WINY"/ "DEGREES OF GUILT" 9/10

Maria, jedna z dwóch bohaterek książki tkwi w długoletnim, pełnym przemocy związku małżeńskim. Pewnego dnia decyduje sie go zakończyć i uśmiecić swojego małżonka. Zostaje schwytana przy zakrwawionym ciele męża(który jednak przeżywa) i postawiona przed sądem. 

Lottie - druga z bohaterek jest jedną z ławniczek biorących udział w procesie Marii. Sam tkwi w dość specyficznej relacji małżeńskiej, która dodatkowon komplikuje się w momencie poznania bliżej innego zławników procesu.

'Wymiar winy" to świetnie napisany thriller psychologiczno-prawniczy z zaskakującym zakończeniem, który naprawdę bardzo polecam.

Maria, one of the book's two main characters stucks in a long-term, violent marriage. One day she decides to end it and she thinks about killing her own husband. She is captured next to her husband's bloody body (who, however, survives) and put on trial.

Lottie - the second main character is one of the assessors involved in Maria's trial. She also is stucking in a very specific marital relationship, which additionally becomes more complicated when she gets to know another assessor of the process.

"Degrees of Guilt" is a well-written psychological and legal thriller with a surprising ending, which I highly recommend.

4. JEFFERY DEAVER "GRA W NIGDY" / "THE NEVER GAME" 5/10

Główny bohater książki  łowca głów Colter Shaw podejmuje się odnalezienia zaginionej nastolatki Sophie Mulliner. Niestety sprawa zaczyna się komplikować i zaczynają znikać kolejne osoby. Wszystko wskazuje na jednego, tego samego sprawcę, który swoje działania opiera na pewnej grze komputerowej. Każdy gracz ma do dyspozycji pięć przedmiotów za pomocą, których musi odnaleźć drogę ucieczki. 

Bardzo przypadła mi do gustu postać głównego bohatera oraz sam pomysł na fabułę - jednak sama książką mimo, że bardzo lubię autora niestety mnie nie urzekła.

The main character of the book head hunter Colter Shaw undertakes to find the missing teenager Sophie Mulliner. Unfortunately, the matter becomes complicated and more people begin to disappear. Everything points to one, the same perpetrator who bases his actions on a certain computer game. Each player has five items at their disposal  which  have to use to have to find an escape route.

I really liked the personality of the main character and the idea for the plot - but the book itself, although I like the author very much, unfortunately did not captivate me.

Turystyka kontrowersyjna/ Controversial tourism - Orgues de Flandre- Organy Flandrii

 "Paryż jest na tyle duży, żeby się zgubić,

Dawno mnie tutaj nie było, ale niemalże od poczatku września delektowałam się swoim długim i zasłużonym urlopem wypoczynkowym. Pełna nowych pomysłów i energii powracam do blogowego życia. Po dłuższej przerwie chciałbym zacząć od postu z lubianego przez Was cyklu turystyki kontrowersyjnej. Dzisiaj opowiem Wam trochę o jednej z paryskich jednostek mieszkalnych, które udało mi się podczas jednego z ostatnich wyjazdów zobaczyć osobiście, czyli tzw. Organów Flandrii.

I was not here for a long time, but almost from the beginning of September I enjoyed my long and well-deserved holiday. Full of new ideas and energy, I return to blogging life. After a long break, I would like to start with a post from the cycle of controversial tourism that you liked. Today I will tell you a little bit  about one of the Parisian housing units that I had a chance to see in person during one of my last trips, the so-called Orgues de Flandre.

Organy Flandrii to znajdujący sie w XIX dzielnicy Paryża  kompleks mieszkalny zbudowany w latach 1974-1980. Zaprojektowany przez niemieckiego architekta  Martina van Treka betonowy kolos umieszczony został na powierzchni 6 hektarów. Składa się on z czterech wież o bardzo muzycznych nazwach : wieży Preludium ( wysokość 123 metry), wieży Fuga (wysokość 108 metrów), Wieży Kantata ( wysokość 101 metrów) i wieży Sonata ( wysokość 90 metrów) oraz dwóch kompleksów Orgues de Flandre V i Orgaues de Flandre VI. Kompleks ten zastąpił nieistniejące już miasto Flandria, z którego ostała się oryginalnie jedynie brama.

The Flanders Organ is a residential complex located in the 19th district of Paris, built in1974-1980. Designed by the German architect Martin van Trek, the concrete colossus was placed on an area of 6 hectares. It consists of four towers with very musical names: the PreludeTower (123 meters high), the Fugue Tower (108 meters high), the Cantate Tower (101 meters high) and the Sonate Tower (90 meters high) and two complexes - Orgues de Flandre V and Orgaues de Flandre VI. This complex was replaced by the now-defunct city of Flanders, from which only the gate has survived.

W momencie powstawania tej jednostki mieszkalnej znajdowały się  na jej terenie liczne obiekty handlowe, szkoła, ośrodek sportowy, zakłady oraz warsztaty rzemieślnicze a nawet dom spokojnej starości. Obecnie   znajduje się tutaj szkoła, centrum rekreacji, ogród w samym centrum a także pływalnię.

At the time of the beginning of this residential unit, there were numerous commercial facilities, a school, a sports center, workshops  and even a retirement home. Currently,  you can fid here a school, a recreation center, a garden in the center and also a swimming pool.

Kompozycja całości nawiązywała do tendecji  popularnych  w latach 60-tych. Poszczególne bloki ukształtowano w układzie tarasowym, dzięki czemu zyskały nieco wygiętę sylwetkę a jednocześnie zapewniły kompleksowi intymną lokalizację chroniącą ją przed  przechodniami.  Niestety ta odrębność sprawiła, że na w latach  90-tych dzielnica stała się idealnym siedliskiem do handlu narkotykami, które sprzedawano na osiedlowych parkingach i w piwnicach. Zaczęło wzrastać bezrobocie, okoliczni mieszkańcy unikali parkowania aut w jej rejonach. 

Na szczęście wraz z programem remontowym osiedla, modernizacją jego wież w roku 2010 policja rozpoczęła program walki z handlem narkotykowym na jej terenie. Dzięki temu osiedle uniknęło losu, który spotkał inne osiedla mieszkaniowe powstałe w podobnym duchu.

The composition of the whole was related to the trends popular in the 1960s. Individual blocks were shaped in a terrace layout, thanks to which they gained a slightly curved silhouette and at the same time provided the complex with an intimate location that protects it from passers-by. Unfortunately, this separateness made the district an ideal place for drug trafficking in the 90s, which was sold in local parking and in cellars. Unemployment began to increase, local residents avoided parking their cars in its areas.

Fortunately, along with the renovation program of the estate and the modernization of its towers in 2010, the police began a program of combating drug trafficking in its area. Thanks to this, the estate avoided the fate that befell other housing estates built in a similar spirit.

Budynki Organów Flandrii znajdują się niedaleko stacji Riquet ( ja niestety, aby do niej dojechać musiałam przesiąść się na pobliskiej stacji metra Stalingrad, gdzie kręci się wielu narkomanów, bezdomnych i uchodźców ). Budynki ze względu na swoją ciekawą architekturę robią wrażenie i dla miłośników architektury są z pewnością warte obejrzenia. Warto jednak zachować ostrożność, w ich okolicy też niestety można spotkać narkomanów oraz kieszonkowców. Atutem tej dzielnicy jest fakt, że idąc pieszo pomiędzy stacjami metra Riquet w kierunku stacji Stalingrad to wówczas można zobaczyć pracę jednego z najbardziej znanych artystó streetowych - Banksyego ( słynna czerwona postać na białym koniu).

The Flanders Organ buildings are located near the Riquet station (unfortunately in my case to get to there I had to change at the nearby Stalingrad metro station, where many drug addicts, homeless people and refugees hang around). The buildings, due to their interesting architecture, are impressive and are certainly worth seeing for architecture lovers. However, it is worth being careful, unfortunately you can also meet drug addicts and pickpockets in their area. The advantage of this district is the fact that walking between Riquet metro stations towards Stalingrad station, you can see the work of one of the most famous street artists - Banksy (the famous red figure on a white horse).
