Po koniec kwietnia miałam okazję obejrzeć wystawę Kenya Hary, który zaliczany jest do jednego z najwiekszych współczesnych japońskich projektantów. Kenya Hara jest ponadto dyrektorem artystycznym marki Muji, która łączy ze sobą prostotę, funkcjonalność oraz minimalizm. W projektach z łatwością można dostrzec tzw. koncept slow life, gdyż samej marce nie tyle zależy na prestiżu, co na trwałości, wysokiej jakości oraz funkcjonalności. Stawia ona bowiem w pierwszej kolejności na rzecz samą w sobie, a nie na brand czy metkę. Przedmioty przez nią tworzone są przede wszystkim funkcjonalne, minimalistyczne, dopasowane do osobowości oraz rytmu życia człowieka. Zdecydowanie czuć w nich japońskiego ducha prostoty.

Na wystawie oprócz licznych grafik, plakatów czy katalogów, zwiedzający mają okazję podziwiać także projekty książek, różnych przedmiotów, opakowań  oraz interaktywnych instalacji oraz filmów, dzięki którym jest nam łatwiej zrozumieć charakter marki. Wystawę można zobaczyć w Muzeum Narodowym w Poznaniu do dnia 30 lipca.

After the end of April, I had the opportunity to see an exhibition by Kenya Hara, who is counted among one of the greatest contemporary Japanese designers. In addition, Kenya Hara is the artistic director of the Muji brand, which combines simplicity, functionality and minimalism. In its designs one can easily notice the so-called slow life concept, as the brand is not so much concerned with prestige as with durability, high quality and functionality. This is because it focuses first on the thing itself, and not on the brand or label. The items it creates are first and foremost functional, minimalist, tailored to a person's personality and rhythm of human's life. You can definitely feel the Japanese spirit of simplicity in them.

At the exhibition, in addition to numerous graphics, posters or catalogs, visitors also have the opportunity to admire the designs of books, various objects, packaging, as well as interactive installations and films that make it easier for us to understand the nature of the brand. The exhibition can be seen at the National Museum in Poznan until July 30.

Pod koniec lutego, jak już wiecie, wraz z Kubą odbyliśmy naszą pierwszą w tym roku podróż z cyklu city break. Naszym celem było miasto Gdańsk, a konkretnie odbywająca się tam wystawa sensoryczna prac Vincenta Van Gogha. To było zarówno dla mnie, jak i dla Kuby,  pierwsze tego typu doświadczenie jeśli chodzi o wystawy. Prace Vincenta Van Gogha są znane dziś niemalże każdemu, dlatego tym trudniej uwierzyć, że w czasach, w których żył oraz tworzył zdołał on sprzedać zaledwie jeden namalowany przez siebie obraz. W swoim życiu 37-letnim życiu namalował on ponad 800 obrazów, a do najsłynniejszych z nich z pewnością należy cykl "Słoneczników", "Gwiaździsta noc" czy "Irysy". Te pierwsze z  wymienionych przeze mnie kwiatów, artysta poświęcił swojemu bratu Theo, który wspierał go nie tylko finansowo, ale także psychicznie.

Podczas wystawy możemy podziwiać dziesiątki prac Van Gogha jednocześnie wysłuchując licznych ciekawostek z jego życia. Część  obrazów, dzięki specjalnej technologi, została ożywiona i dzięki temu mamy wrażenie, że stajemy się fizyczną częścią wystawy prac artysty, które otaczają nas z niemalże każdej strony. Bardzo trudno jest opisać to uczucie- trzeba go po prostu doświadczyć, dlatego każdemu z Was kto będzie miał okazję wybrać się na tego typu wystawę bardzo to doświadczenie polecam. In late February, as you already know, Kuba and I went to our first city break trip in this year. Our destination was the city of Gdansk, and specifically the sensory exhibition of Vincent Van Gogh's works taking place there. It was for both (me and Kuba) a first experience of this kind when it comes to exhibitions. Vincent Van Gogh's works are known to almost everyone today, so it's all the more difficult to believe that in the time in which he lived and created he managed to sell just one painting that he painted. In his 37-years life he painted more than 800 paintings, and among the most famous of them is certainly the "Sunflowers" series, "Starry Night" or "Irises." The former of the flowers I mentioned above, the artist dedicated to his brother Theo, who supported him not only financially, but also mentally.

During the exhibition we can admire dozens of Van Gogh's works while listening to numerous interesting facts about his life. Some of the paintings, thanks to special technology, have been brought to life and thanks to this we have the impression that we become a physical part of the exhibition of the artist's works, which surround us from almost every side. It is very difficult to describe this feeling - you simply have to experience it, so to any of you who will have the opportunity to go to this type of exhibition I highly recommend this experience.
