Where to eat?/Gdzie zjeść? - Marino Bistrot

 „Tylko jedząc doskonałe potrawy,

jesteś w stanie takie przygotować”

“Only by eating excellent food

can you learn to prepare it yourself”

As part of our monthly dates, Kuba took me this time to Marino Bistrot, an Italian restaurant featured in the 2026 Michelin Guide. This place was created by a group of people who share a passion for cooking and a desire to share that passion with others. The restaurant offers Italian cuisine—loved by millions—with a slightly different, modern twist. All dishes are prepared exclusively with authentic, Italian-made ingredients as well as regional products, through which the restaurant owners support local businesses.

The place impresses with its beautiful, modern brutalist design. However, it also features warm touches in the form of flowers and paintings. We started our dinner by sharing the Arancini di Triglia appetizer, served with saffron, grilled barwena fish, topped with a garlic-dill sauce, and sprinkled with lime zest. And I have to tell you, it was the most delicious arancini I’ve ever had in my life. I’ll definitely be happy to go back there for them.

For his main course, my Kuba chose Spaghettoni alla Carbonara con Tartufo. And here I’d like to mention that it was an incredibly nice touch that the head chef himself came over to our table and personally sprinkled his dish with freshly grated truffle. As for me and my main course, I went for the Melanzane alla Parmigiana, or baked eggplant. The presentation and the combination of flavors and sauces in this dish were exquisite. I highly recommend it to you.

Finally, we both decided to try something from the dessert menu. Kuba chose a mysteriously named item—“Oops… I dropped the lemon tarta.” As for me, I went for the artisanal ice cream with espresso. Both desserts were beautifully presented. We were also pleasantly surprised by how they tasted.

This was our first visit to Marino Bistrot, but I can assure you it won’t be our last, because we’re really eager to try other items on the menu. We also had a very positive experience with the staff, who gave us interesting insights into the dishes we were served and were happy to answer our questions. So if you’re ever in Poznań and are in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine presented in an unconventional yet delicious way, Kuba and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to you.

Where to eat?/Gdzie zjeść? - Restauracja Lusi w Poznaniu/ Restaurant Lusi in Poznan

 ,,Przyprawą potrawy jest głód.’’

"Hunger is he spice of a dish"

W miesiącu maju, w ramach naszej kulinarnej randkowej tradycji zabrałam Kubę do restauracji Lusi serwującej moją ukochaną kuchnię włoską.

Oba dania były pyszne i niesamowicie wyraziste.

In May, as part of our culinary date tradition, I took Kuba to Lusi’s restaurant, which serves my beloved Italian cuisine. I’d been to this restaurant once before with my girlfriends, and as I really liked the food and the atmosphere, I decided to take Kuba there. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten track, but it’s definitely worth a visit.  It’s housed in a former engine grinding workshop. It’s a place where you can really feel the Italian atmosphere blended with the industrial character of a 1970s tenement building. I really like its character, where details play an important role – for example, the metal candlesticks with candles, which give the place its unique atmosphere. Inside the restaurant, there is a traditional Italian wood-fired oven, in which Neapolitan-style pizza is baked. On the menu, apart from the aforementioned pizza, you’ll find various types of pasta, seafood, delicious desserts, as well as starters and an extensive wine list with a carefully curated selection of wines. In addition to the tables inside, it also has a small, atmospheric outdoor garden, which is well worth visiting on warmer days.

As for the food, we opted for triangoli with truffle and mezzelune with prawns and burrata. Both dishes were delicious and incredibly flavourful. The triangoli completely stole my heart thanks to that distinctive truffle flavour I love so much. Kuba ordered them, but he fell in love with the delicately spicy flavour of the mezzelune, so we quickly swapped our dishes. As we still had quite a lot of sauce and truffle oil left, we ordered a focaccia served with two types of butter – summer lemon and truffle. For dessert, I opted for a brownie with raspberry sauce. Kuba, on the other hand, was tempted by a traditional Italian dessert, the cannolo. We also ordered a bottle of Italian wine, which perfectly complemented the flavour of our dishes. Kuba really regretted not trying the pizza, but we promised each other that we’d make up for it in the near future and definitely return to this place.
