Lifestyle - Babski wypad do Gdyni oraz Sopotu/ A girls trip to Gdynia and Sopot

“A woman’s beauty is not reflected in the clothes she wears,

her figure, or the way she styles her hair.

A woman’s beauty must be seen in her eyes,

for they are the gateway to her heart.”

Pomagamy nawzajem i wspieramy.

Cieplutko Was pozdrawiam.

I remember that when I was younger and watched the TV series "Sex and the City", I used to dream of having a group of female friends like that, with whom I could talk about absolutely anything. I really loved the show’s take on female friendship. I did, of course, have friends (four in total) in my life, but I used to meet up with each of them separately, as I’d met them in different circumstances and at different stages of my life. I had to wait a little longer for a real, slightly ‘film-like’ group of girlfriends. And it was definitely worth the wait.

We met at the same workplace, before the pandemic – back when turning up at the office every day was compulsory, and nobody had even thought of working remotely. Our daily chats over lunch really brought us closer together, until one day we decided to meet up outside of work as well. Then the pandemic hit, and over time some of us started changing jobs. I remember worrying whether we’d manage to stay together as a group, or whether we’d all go our separate ways. Our friendship, however, has endured. Time has shown that there are things more important than the workplace itself, which was where our friendship began. We celebrate our birthdays together. We’re there for one another during important moments in life. We help and support one another. We’re all different, but when we’re together we make a really close-knit team.

This year, for the first time, we decided to go on our first girls’ weekend away together. We considered various options for our destination, but in the end we settled on Gdynia. The main aim of our trip was to spend time together, but we also managed to visit the Emigration Museum in Gdynia, where we spent a few hours exploring its fascinating exhibitions. We then took the tram to Sopot, where a stroll along the famous Sopot pier was a must. We have very fond memories of the whole trip and are already tentatively starting to make plans for our next girls’ weekend next year.

Do you have your own groups of female or male friends with whom you get on well and enjoy spending time together? Do you sometimes organize trips together as well? Warm regards to all of you.

LIFESTYLE - STRAJK KOBIET/ MAMY DOŚĆ - WOMEN'S STRIKE/ WE HAVE ENOUGH

"Kobieta jest organizmem ultradoskonałym.

Potrafi się regenerować po

ekstremalnie ciężkich doświadczeniach."

/K.Nosowska/

"A woman is an ultra-perfect organism.

Can regenerate after

extremely hard experiences. "

I had another plans for the post, but there are issues that cannot be kept silent. Last Thursday, the Constitutional Tribunal took away the right of women in Poland by forbidding a eugenic abortion. The law, which was radical on this issue, was made even more stringent and it was done under the cover of a pandemic. This decision caused thousands of striking women to take to the streets, fighting for their rights. Fighting to be trusted. Fighting for some kind of freedom.

Each of us is different. Each of us has different beliefs, values and endurance. Each of us is in a different life situation. Meanwhile, the rulers, disregarding these differences, they lumped them together, making this important decision on our behalf, the effects of which will be felt in the first place by women. That's why #we are fed up, #this is war and #womenstrike.

I am not a supporter of abortion generally, but I cannot take the rights to get an abortion from another woman. I am not her. I do not know what she thinks, feels, what she believes in, what her financial situation is and whether her psyche is able to cope with the coming into the world of a child who is sentenced to death due to an incurable disease. That is the reason why I am on the side of the strikers women in these difficult times of the pandemic. I support them so that they are given the right to choose. I don't want to live in the country that treats a woman an incubator. I don't want to live in the world of the novel "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood. I am a strong and free woman who thinks, feels and decides. Or at least she should have the right to do so.
